About Our Residents Association

Who?

The Residents Association (RA) is currently made up of 4 residents who have each requested to join;-
– Alan (Ambrosden Court Close)
– Chris (Jaspers Row)
– Martin (Ambrosden Court Close)
– Paul (Jaspers Row)

The maximum number of members should ideally be 5 and it’s important to have a good spread of residents from all areas if possible.
As we have recently lost a founding member, if you would like to join us then please use the contact page to send us a message.

Why?

When we all bought our houses, we were asked to agree to become directors when Croudace handed over their directorships upon completion of the estate.  Then there came a problem – the play area.  Until the play area is adopted by the council the estate is not deemed to have been completed and so Croudace retain their directorships and have to pay monthly maintenance for the upkeep, repair etc. of the play area.  If we asked Croudace to release the land to us before it is adopted, then residents will be responsible for its upkeep, insurance, inspections etc.

So everything is waiting on the council to adopt the play area and this is currently in the hands of solicitors and the latest expected date for legal completion is October 2025.

So our management company, HML, manage things like gardening on our behalf, but because of poor service in the past, a group of us worked hard to get the service from HML that we were paying for, and after the last three HML managers were ousted we now have a manager called Drew and we have been working closely with him to try and get some control in the absence of being directors.
The previous manager Ross suggested setting up the RA and the WhatsApp group so that is why we exist.

So the RA is a body of residents that will act as a representative group of residents with the likes of HML, Croudace and Bromfords.

How?

A letter was hand delivered to everyone on the estate inviting all residents to join the RA, and also to join the WhatsApp group.
In addition, Alan D and Claire did some ‘door knocking’ to summon up further support for the WhatsApp group.
The WhatsApp group will be the only medium to advise residents of what the RA is doing on behalf of the residents.  The WhatsApp group is only open to residents and is therefore only by invite.  If you are not on the WhatsApp group and would like to be, then complete the message on the Contact page and we’ll send you a link.
The RA had its first meeting on 19th Feb 2024 and we were joined by Peter, one of our Ambrosden Parish Councillors.  The minutes of that meeting and any future minurtes will be posted on this web site here.  That page is password protected so only accessible by those on the WhatsApp group.

When?

The RA meets each month and the chair of each meeting is rotated.
Attendance by others is by invite only and we are happy to involve other residents if they can bring something important or useful to the meeting.

Where?

We meet in the house of the chair or anywhere else as agreed because we have to allow for space, kids, pets etc.

What?

If a resident wants something to be raised and discussed at the next meeting, then ideally message through the WhatsApp group or use the Contact page on this web site.  This does not remove the right of each of us to approach HML or Croudace direct, but as a strong group of residents appointed to represent, we would have more clout putting issues across.
